i dont actually remember when this happened. what im sure is, it had happened in my previous house.
i was a child, rolling around on mom's bed. minding my own buisness. mom saw me, and she tought that it was a good idea to roll on the bed with me. so we were goofing around on the bed that night. when suddenlly, i saw mom's birthmark. birthmark tend to look like little burn scar.
i asked her "what is that?"
she said,"it is a 'tanda'."
'tanda' means sign or mark in malay. in this case, it means birthmark.
but i, accidentally, heard it as 'thunder'. so i mistakenly thought that mama was shocked by thunder and left that little burn scar on her.
"does that thunder comes creeping from the soil and shocked you from your feet mama?"
all mama did was laugh.

there was once when karu was a small child. about 3 years old. mom was gardening in the garden. that was when karu saw a snail right beside mom's feet. but the only thing left was the snail's shell . (the snail is freakin dead)
"what's that?" i asked.
"that's a 'siput babi", mom answered. 'siput' actually means shell in malay. while 'babi' means pig. but if you combine the 2 words together, it means 'snail'.
so, i asked again," but where has the 'babi' gone to? has the 'babi' left its 'siput'?"
mom said nothing more. instead she burst in laughter...

A 'babi' running away
